Dixon Police Chief's Advisory Committee

At the Dixon Police Department, we are dedicated to fostering a strong, collaborative relationship with our community. Our approach to community policing is rooted in open dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents of Dixon. Integral to this approach is the involvement of community members in shaping and guiding our strategies and policies.

The Chief's Advisory Committee is a key component of our mission to work collaboratively with the community to preserve peace, protect the public, and provide a safe environment for everyone to enjoy all Dixon offers. This committee provides a platform for meaningful interaction between the community and the police, ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and considered in our policing efforts.

Mission and Purpose

Aligned with the Dixon Police Department's philosophy of inclusive policing, the Chief's Advisory Committee is a crucial link between the community and the Police Department. It provides a forum for community members to:

  • Learn about and provide input on police initiatives and policies.
  • Understand and discuss public safety issues.
  • Offer recommendations on police operations.

This committee reflects our belief that police services work best when they include everyone—residents, businesses, community, and religious leaders.

Meeting Schedule and Expectations

The Chief's Advisory Committee meets regularly to facilitate open, honest dialogue about community needs and concerns. Meetings are open to the public and are scheduled at times and locations that best suit community and organizational needs.

Members of the Chief's Advisory Committee are expected to:

  • Actively participate in discussions.
  • Treat each other with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Refrain from using the platform for personal agendas.

Composition of the Chief's Advisory Committee

The Chief's Advisory Committee is comprised of a diverse cross-section of Dixon residents, business owners, educators, and representatives from various community groups. Members are selected for their professionalism, integrity, and commitment to the community.
